Keeps Hardware Store |
- A major fire destroyed the hardware store of M.D. Alger. It is unclear if he went on to rebuild or manager the store of another. [4]
- Alger & Dougherty have dissolved partnership, M.D. Alger continuing the business, T.E. Dougherty going to his home at Port Byron. [5]
- M.D. Alger this week sold out his business to Chas. Carroll, who has taken possession. While the public generally regret Mr. Alger's retirement, they will no doubt extend to his successor a liberal patronage. The people recognize that it is a business much needed here, and the new manager will make it for the interest of the community and surrounding country to call on him for anything in his line of trade.
